1. Room Allocation, Access, and Occupancy

  • Rooms are allotted by hostel management based on course, batch, and availability.
  • Students must occupy their allotted room within the stipulated time.
  • Entering or staying in a room other than the allotted room is not allowed without written authorization.
  • Management may reallocate rooms for administrative or operational reasons.

2. In-Time, Out-Time, Attendance, and Leave

  • The hostel curfew time is 7:30 PM.
  • Residents are expected to remain in the hostel on working days unless prior permission is granted.
  • Prior approval is required for overnight or outstation leave.
  • Unauthorized absence, late return, or repeated violations may invite disciplinary action.

3. Cleanliness, Hygiene, and Facilities Use

  • Residents must maintain cleanliness in rooms and common areas at all times.
  • Use of the hostel kitchen or any student cooking facility is prohibited.
  • Cooking inside rooms or using cooking-related appliances is not permitted.
  • Hostel facilities must be used responsibly and only for their intended purpose.

4. Electrical Appliances

  • Only hostel-approved electrical appliances are allowed.
  • High-power or unauthorized appliances such as heaters, induction stoves, immersion rods, and open heating devices are prohibited.
  • Tampering with wiring, unsafe electricity use, or overloading sockets is not allowed.
  • Appliances must be switched off when not in use.

5. Conduct, Discipline, and Social Restrictions

  • Students must maintain discipline, decorum, and respectful behavior.
  • Noise must be kept low, especially during study hours from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
  • Birthdays, parties, and gatherings inside hostel premises are prohibited.
  • Ragging, harassment, intimidation, or misconduct in any form is strictly prohibited.

6. Prohibited Activities

  • Smoking, alcohol, drugs, gambling, and unlawful activities are strictly forbidden inside hostel premises.
  • Possession of hazardous, prohibited, or illegal items is not permitted.

7. Property Care and Damage

  • Residents are responsible for hostel property issued to them.
  • Loss, damage, or misuse will be recorded and charged to the concerned student or students.
  • In shared rooms, failure to report damage or misconduct may result in collective responsibility.

8. Visitors and Security

  • Visitors are allowed only during designated hours and only in approved common areas.
  • Visitors are not permitted inside student rooms.
  • Residents are responsible for the conduct of their visitors.

9. Health, Safety, and Emergencies

  • Any illness, injury, safety concern, or suspicious activity must be reported immediately.
  • Students requiring regular medication or special care should inform management in advance.
  • Residents must comply with safety, fire, and emergency procedures, and must not tamper with safety equipment.

10. Dress Code and Personal Decorum

  • Students are expected to maintain decent and appropriate attire inside hostel premises, especially in common areas.
  • Appearance that is unsuitable for an academic residential environment is not permitted.

11. Inspections, Notices, and Communication

  • Hostel authorities may carry out periodic or surprise inspections.
  • Students must cooperate with inspections and follow instructions within the given timeframe.
  • Official notices and circulars shared through notice boards or official channels are binding.

12. Grievance Redressal

Residents may raise grievances related to hostel facilities or services with the warden or designated authority through the prescribed process.

13. Environmental Responsibility

  • Students are expected to conserve electricity and water.
  • Wastage or misuse of utilities may attract penalties.

14. Checkout and Vacating Procedure

  • Checkout must be completed by 10:00 AM upon course completion, withdrawal, or termination of accommodation.
  • Rooms must be vacated in clean condition, keys returned, and all dues cleared before departure.

15. Authority, Compliance, and Undertaking

  • Violation of hostel rules may result in fines, suspension, cancellation of accommodation, or further disciplinary action.
  • Students may be required to sign an undertaking confirming they will follow hostel rules.
  • Hostel management reserves the right to amend rules and regulations when required.
